About

Who We Are:

RE:GEN:CY is a space for promoting sustainable growth through localism. Localism is a belief that people living in a community are better at making decisions that affect them than outside parties.

Located in Red Hook, Brooklyn, NY, we are currently researching with the community to understand what problems are most pressing and which projects are priorities. We are exploring: small business growth and development, skills/workshop training to include coding and finance education, community solar, resource sharing, disaster preparedness, barnraising, and __________ (your suggestions). After identifying areas of interest, we move towards creating solutions by guiding co-design and co-development between technologists and community members, and structure funding that maintains the value within the community.

We hope this space will bring together and inspire people, businesses, ideas, and resources to participate in the design of projects to increase local self-sufficiency.
